The original control boxes incorporated obsolete potted components which meant there was a limited chance of being able to repair these old units.

Solution

We designed a new and improved control box using standardised readily available rail industry components.

ScotRail Trains – Class 318 Relay

Problem

A stopped train urgently required a replacement relay which was on a 16-week lead time.

Solution

We investigated and sourced an immediately available alternative, which was from the same family of relays but incorporated additional factory fitted options. Rail Spares wrote and provided a component assessment detailing these differences and provided a copy of the OEM data sheet to support this.
