Our Story
Rail Spares Ltd was established in 2008 and has since then provided a range of quality spare parts and services to the UK rail industry.
In 2017 we expanded our business into our own dedicated spares supply and storage facility, further improving our service to the industry.
With over 15 years’ experience in supporting rail customers, with various services across a range of requirements, we know how crucial minimising vehicle downtime is to any Train Operating Company.
Our services include the sourcing and provision of spare parts and consumable items, solving obsolescence, material kitting, component overhaul and material storage.
Meet the Team
An innovative business leader, with over 20 years experience in the rail industry, with a proven track record in finance, procurement, commercial and business development.
Brian has led the company successfully since 2008 to become an established supplier to the rail industry.
Davy is a time served engineer and a highly experienced Account Manager with over 30 years railway experience and over 20 years as an account manager, having worked for Brush Barclay (formerly Hunslet-Barclay) for 16 years before joining the Rail Spares business in 2008.
Davy has an extensive knowledge of the rail industry supply chain.
Tom is a widely experienced Engineering Manager with over 40 years rail industry experience, having worked in senior engineering roles for Brush Barclay (formerly Hunslet-Barclay), Alstom Transport, Scott Wilson Railways and Brodie Engineering before joining the Rail Spares business in 2018.
Tom has amassed a wealth of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic knowledge over the years, and this coupled with his knowledge of the rail industry supply chain has helped solve many of our customers’ obsolescence problems.
John has worked in all areas of materials management, spanning more than 30 years his roles have included working in and managing stores activities and procurement. The last 20 years have been spent working in the rail industry managing stores, the procurement of parts and coordinating component overhaul for Wabtec Rail Scotland, Brodie Engineering and CAF before joining the Rail Spares business in 2022.
Like Davy and Tom, John has an extensive knowledge of the rail industry supply chain.
Aly is a time served Engineer with over 40 years’ experience in Manufacturing across many sectors, covering a wide range of disciplines including Rail infrastructure plant and machinery. Having owned his own successful Engineering company for over 20 years, Aly was heavily involved in developing and manufacturing Rail equipment for the world’s infrastructure market.
As a new addition to the Team, Aly wants to assist our clients in sourcing and delivering manufactured parts where new parts are no longer available and help build and strengthen our client base across the UK.
